Qatar Airways has completed Starlink installations across its Boeing 787-8 fleet, bringing its total number of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft to 150.

Installation of Starlink on Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787-8 fleet has been completed, bringing the airline’s total number of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft to 150. The carrier has also become the first airline to operate the Boeing 787-9 with Starlink satellite internet.

The airline has confirmed that it remains on schedule to complete Starlink installations across its entire Boeing 787 fleet by the end of 2026. This follows earlier rollouts on its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 fleets.

According to Qatar Airways, more than 83% of its widebody Starlink installation programme has now been completed.

The airline now operates 323 Starlink-enabled flights per day and offers the service free of charge on eligible flights.

Since introducing Starlink connectivity in October 2024, Qatar Airways says more than 23 million passengers have used the service across more than 86,000 flights. Internet speeds of up to 500 Mbps are now available on long-haul and ultra long-haul routes throughout its global network.
