JetBlue Airways has officially unveiled the final details and cabin design for its first-ever domestic first-class product, branded as BlueFirst.
This strategic product launch marks a major shift for the New York-based carrier as it seeks to attract more premium travelers and compete directly with legacy airlines on shorter regional routes.
Unlike JetBlue’s acclaimed lie-flat Mint business class, which will remain its flagship product on lucrative transcontinental and transatlantic flights, BlueFirst is a traditional regional first-class product built specifically for the rest of the airline’s domestic and Caribbean network.
BlueFirst Cabin and Seating
The new premium cabin will be configured in a standard 2-2 layout at the front of the aircraft. Retrofit plans indicate that the airline’s Airbus A320 and A321 jets will feature up to three rows of first class, while the smaller Airbus A220 fleet will have two dedicated rows.

Passenger comfort is anchored by an exclusive partnership with mattress brand Tuft & Needle. The custom-designed plush seats use specialized T&N Flex foam intended to provide personalized pressure relief.

The partnership is also reflected in the cabin’s finer design details, including co-branded tags and distinctive cushioned headrests.

Compared with standard economy seats, the new recliners provide up to seven additional inches of legroom and five extra inches of recline.
Entertainment and Dining
Technology and high-end dining are central to the BlueFirst inflight experience. Every passenger will have access to a 13.3-inch touchscreen seatback monitor equipped with Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headphones, alongside USB-A, USB-C, and 110V AC power outlets.

JetBlue is also using this hardware to introduce a fully integrated seatback ordering system. Passengers can order premium meals served in bento-inspired boxes and use an interactive “mixologist mode” directly from their screens to customize specialty craft cocktails during the flight.
Ground Benefits and Rollout
Ground perks for BlueFirst ticket holders mirror traditional premium-tier benefits, including Group 1 priority boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, priority check-in, and expedited security lanes at more than 30 airports.
However, to maintain a distinction from the top-tier Mint experience, standard BlueFirst tickets will not include complimentary entry to JetBlue’s BlueHouse airport lounges unless passengers hold elite Mosaic status or a co-branded premium credit card.
Installation of the new cabins is scheduled to begin later this year. JetBlue aims to retrofit roughly a quarter of its non-Mint fleet by the end of 2026 and complete the rollout in 2027.
